Personal injury: 4 injured, 1 killed in Missouri crash

Most parents in Missouri go to great lengths to protect their children, including ensuring that their children are properly restrained in their vehicles and that anyone driving them obeys all traffic laws, for examples. Unfortunately, even the safest of parents are sometimes unable to avoid the negligent acts of other drivers. Police in Missouri claim that a father recently lost his life in a car accident, and four of his passengers, two of whom were his sons, suffered a personal injury.

The accident happened at 9:15 p.m. on a day in November. According to reports, a pickup truck was westbound on a Missouri roadway. Police claim that a westbound sports utility vehicle crossed into oncoming traffic, striking the pickup truck head-on.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 36-year-old man, died at the scene. His two sons, ages 10 and 8, suffered serious and moderate injuries, respectively.  Another occupant, a 12-year-old, was seriously injured while a 31-year-old woman suffered moderate injuries. It is unclear if the 23-year-old driver of the SUV was injured.

Unfortunately, no family is prepared for the unexpected loss of a loved one. In addition to a fatality, victims of this car accident must also cope with the ramifications of any personal injury. Because hospital care can easily result in overwhelming medical bills, many families in Missouri often wonder how they will maintain their financial stability. To help cope with these expenses, some victims of a car accident such as this often choose to file a lawsuit against the responsible party. An attorney with experience with this type of case can help victims fully understand their options.
