Personal injury: Missouri woman killed in Missouri crash

While there are sometimes drivers in Missouri roadways who fail to follow traffic signals and speed limits, the vast majority are committed to protecting their personal safety as well as the safety of those in which they may encounter. Unfortunately, it is sometimes impossible for conscientious drivers to avoid those who ignore the safety of others. Recently, a woman suffered a fatal personal injury, all because another driver apparently failed to stop at a red light.

The incident happened just after 5 p.m. on a day in late November. According to reports, the 39-year-old woman was attempting to make a left turn while driving a sports utility vehicle. Unfortunately, police say that the 23-year-old driver of a pickup truck did not stop at the traffic light, resulting in a collision.

The SUV was reportedly forced from the road where it struck a pole. Unfortunately, the driver died as a result of injuries suffered in the collision. The driver of the pickup truck as well as his young daughter -- who police say was unrestrained at the time of the collision -- were transported to the hospital; a male passenger declined medical treatment. Police also believe that speed may have been a factor in the accident.

Because an accident can happen in the blink of an eye, it is especially important for Missouri drivers to obey all traffic laws. Failure to do so often has tragic consequences as this Illinois personal injury accident demonstrates. Because of the financial ramifications of such an incident, families are often forced to file a wrongful death lawsuit to pursue recovery of monetary damages so as to maintain their financial stability following an unexpected loss.
