Missouri woman suffers personal injury in single-vehicle crash

When driving with a passenger in the vehicle, it is easy to become distracted. An intense conversation, for example, could be all it takes to cause a serious accident. Unfortunately, a women in Missouri has reportedly suffered a serious personal injury after she was involved in a single-vehicle crash.

The incident happened one evening on a day in mid-March. According to reports, a vehicle driven by a 20-year-old woman exited a Missouri road on the right side. As a result, the vehicle flipped and struck a tree.

The driver was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle where she was treated and released; however, a 19-year-old female passenger reportedly suffered serious injuries. She was transported to the hospital by helicopter. Reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol indicate that the vehicle was totaled. Both of the vehicle's occupants were said to have been wearing seatbelts. It is unclear what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.

Unfortunately, the costs associated with a serious personal injury in a car accident can quickly become astronomical. In fact, many people in Missouri struggle as a result of the combination of financial harm created by lost wages and medical costs. As a result, some victims who were injured as a result of another's negligence opt to file a civil lawsuit against the driver deemed responsible. If successfully presented, injured victims could receive a financial award that allows them to focus on their overall recovery rather than whether they will be able to pay their bills.
