Missouri motorcycle passenger suffers personal injury in crash

There are many basic traffic laws that many people in Missouri may take for granted. While some people may see little harm in running a red light, for example, doing so could ultimately result in an accident, including one that causes a serious personal injury. Unfortunately, two people were recently sent to the hospital as a result of a motorcyclist who reportedly failed to stop at a traffic light.

The incident happened at approximately 10 p.m. on a day in mid-April. According to reports, a 38-year-old man was driving a motorcycle with a 39-year-old female passenger. Reports claim that the man failed to stop at a red light, causing the motorcycle to collide with a car.

Both people on the motorcycle were ejected. The man is said to have suffered moderate injuries in the collision. However, the woman's injuries are described as potentially life-threatening. Reports given by paramedics and police officers at the scene of the crash indicate that the man was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision. It is unclear if criminal charges are anticipated, but the incident remains under investigation.

Unfortunately, a woman in Missouri is now left fighting for her life due to an accident that reports indicate was preventable. In addition to her injuries, the woman may ultimately be left facing a mountain of medical debt. These costs can quickly become overwhelming in combination with lost wages. However, those injured by another person's negligence have the option of filing a personal injury lawsuit against the parties deemed responsible. A successfully presented lawsuit could result in a financial award that will ensure that the financial obligations stemming from the injuries can be met.
