Man may deserve workers' compensation after work accident

There are many dangerous jobs in Missouri and across the country. While employers and workers work hard to avoid such accidents, they are often unable to completely do so. In fact, a man in an another state may deserve workers' compensation benefits after he recently suffered injuries in a welding accident.

The incident reportedly happened just before midnight on a day in mid-May. Police officers claim that they received a call about a 58-year-old man who had suffered burn injuries. According to reports, he had been welding at the time.

Report claim that the man reported that he was welding steel beams. He stepped back, causing him to come into contact with a beam and lighting the back of his shirt on fire. He reportedly suffered burns to his side and back. Rescue workers transported him to the hospital for treatment following the accident. Police do not suspect that suspicious or malicious activity led to the accident.

Anyone who has required treatment at the hospital knows of the expense often associated with it. As a result, employers provide workers' compensation insurance coverage that can help with certain expenses created by a workplace accident, including medical bills. These benefits can also provide for lost wages if a worker is required to miss work as he or she recovers. Though people in Missouri may be aware that they are entitled to these benefits, they may feel unprepared to properly negotiate with an insurance company during their recovery. As a result, they often choose to hire an experienced professional who can negotiate on their behalf, helping them secure a fair settlement.
