Man loses hand in industrial accident

When most people in Missouri think of dangerous occupations, they often think of jobs that actively require people to rush toward dangers, such as a police officer or firefighter. However, all jobs, especially those in an industrial setting, hold some degree of risk. In fact, a man in another state recently suffered serious injuries in an industrial accident.

The incident happened one morning on a day in early August. According to reports, a person called police to report that a worker at Campione Enterprises suffered an injury. The caller reported that the victim had lost a portion of his arm and was losing blood.

When rescue workers arrived at the scene, they claim that the man was sitting over a floor drain. A bone was protruding from the injury, and responders noted that they was blood pumping from the injury. Police officers at the scene applied a tourniquet. Reports indicate that a tool the victim had been holding became caught in a conveyor belt, causing an amputation approximately two inches above his wrist.

Police at the scene reportedly notified the Occupational Safety and Health Administration about the man's injuries suffered in the industrial accident. Unfortunately, even with the advances that have occurred in medical technology, injuries such as these are often difficult to overcome, potentially creating financial complications for victims. Because of the potential for these complications, companies are required to provide workers' compensation insurance benefits. Often, people in Missouri who deserve such compensation feel unsure about the process, prompting them to seek guidance from a professional.
