Missouri motorcycle accident sends man to hospital

When driving on Missouri roadways, drivers are likely to encounter multiple different people utilizing the roadways in various different -- and legal -- ways. This could include bicyclists, pedestrians and motorcyclists. Because of this, driver's of more traditional vehicles must be constantly vigilant to help prevent accidents. Unfortunately, a recent motorcycle accident sent a man to the hospital.

Police responded to the accident just after 5:30 p.m. on a day in August. According to reports, a passenger vehicle attempted a left turn into a parking lot. Apparently, this caused the man to turn into the path of a motorcyclist.

The 50-year-old man on the motorcycle is said to have struck the vehicle. The force of the collision threw the rider over the handlebars, resulting in serious injuries. The driver of the passenger vehicle was not injured. While no citations were issued at the scene, the investigation is ongoing.

Because of their smaller size, motorcyclists may be more difficult to see. Unfortunately, they lack many of the physical protections that traditional motor vehicles have, potentially increasing their chance of injury. Due to this motorcycle accident in Missouri, the injured motorcyclist may be facing a difficult, lengthy and painful recovery. To help ensure that he can cope with the financial consequences that often come with lost wages and medical expenses, he may choose to file a personal injury lawsuit against the other driver involved. If he can prove that his injuries were the result of negligence, he could receive a financial award that will ensure he can fulfill his financial obligations.
