Matt Leonard joined the law firm of Roberts, Wooten, and Zimmer in 2023. He is an experienced attorney who has been practicing law in Missouri for over 20 years. Matt focuses his work primarily in the areas of Workers' Compensation, Personal Injury, Criminal Defense, and Traffic Law.
Matt grew up in St. Peters, MO and graduated from Francis Howell North High School. He attended the University of Missouri in Columbia where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and Banking. Matt went on to earn his law degree from the University of Missouri Columbia in 2001.
Matt was admitted to the Missouri Bar in 2001 and to the Illinois Bar in 2015. Following graduation from law school Matt worked as an Assistant Public Defender for the Missouri Public Defender's office in Springfield, MO where he represented clients in misdemeanor and felony cases. He then returned to the St. Louis area where he worked for three different workers' compensation defense firms over the next twenty years representing employers and insurers in workers' compensation claims. During that time Matt represented clients before the Missouri Division of Workers' Compensation, Missouri Labor and Industrial Relations Commission, Missouri Court of Appeals, and Missouri Supreme Court. He has also represented clients before the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission.
Matt enjoys sports, reading, traveling and spending time with his wife, daughter and two dogs.
